Refreshing Summer Drinks To Quench Your Thirst

With the summer heat starting to kick in and the fresh summer produce waiting to make its way in our kitchens, it is time to enjoy some easy at-home summer drinks. We understand that it’s tempting to reach out for a sugary and fizzy soda instead but let those not be your only delicious options when it comes to enjoying summer drinks. Also, those sodas and fizz that you’ve been downing are unhealthy! We’ve rounded up a list of our favourite and amazing fresh summer sippers which are complete with bold flavours and refreshing ingredients, that will help you beat the summer heat.

If you’re getting a little too tired of having cold water to keep your body cool from the inside, try some of these healthy and cool summer coolers instead. These recipes are so easy and delicious that you’ll want them all year long!

  • Orange Pomegranate Green Tea

If you love Green Tea you must give this Orange Pomegranate Green tea a go! Trust us you will fall in love with this with every sip. Green tea is rich in antioxidants called flavonoids which help reduce the risk of Diabetes and Alzheimer’s. it also helps to keep healthy and strong teeth, gums, and bones. The flavonoids in this tea are preserved by the inclusion of Oranges.

Ingredients: Chilled green tea (freshly brewed tea works best), freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly squeezed pomegranate juice, juice of half a lemon, fresh mint leaves and ice (as required)

  • Dried Wood Apple (Bael) Fruit Tea

Wood Apple or better known as Bael in India is a fruit of the Aegle species. High in Vitamin C, A, B1 and B2, carotene, potassium, and calcium, Bael is best known for promoting and maintaining a healthy digestive system and preventing constipation. Dried Bael can be consumed both as hot and cold tea.

Ingredients: Dried Bael, water, brown sugar (to make sugar syrup), and ice (as required)

  • Pineapple Lemonade

When life gives you lemon, you don’t just make any lemonade. You make Pineapple Lemonade! A fun twist on traditional lemonade, this pineapple flavoured lemonade is the perfect combination of tangy, slightly-sweet tropical goodness. Pineapple lemonade is so refreshing and sweet and it’s unbelievably easy to whip as well. You may never want to go back to that boring lemonade again!

Ingredients: Freshly squeezed pineapple juice, an equal quantity of fresh lemon juice, juice of half a lime, sugar, and ice (as required)

  • Apple Lemon Fruit Cooler

With peak summer ready to hit us soon, we thought its time we needed a good iced drink to keep us cool in this hot weather. This fruit cooler with Apple and Lemon is tasty, refreshing and perfect for sipping as warmer days approach.

Ingredients: Chilled green tea (freshly brewed tea works best), Apples (finely chopped or freshly squeezed apple juice), juice of half a lemon, honey (to taste), lemon or lime zest and ice (as required)

  • Watermelon and Cucumber Juice

A refreshing and tangy juice, this lightly flavoured drink will keep you hydrated on a hot summer day. Rich in vitamins A, B, C, B1 and B6 this summer drink eliminates toxins by acting as a natural detoxifier in your body. Rich in fibre and water content watermelon and cucumber juice is extremely good for your digestive health.

Ingredients: Freshly squeezed watermelon juice, freshly squeezed cucumber juice, fresh mint leaves, juice of a lemon, sugar (as required) and ice (as required)

There’s nothing like a cool, refreshing drink when it’s hot and humid outside. Forget fat-rich iced lattes and sugary fizzy drinks this summer. These homemade summer drinks will leave you just as satisfied, minus the calories and are extremely healthy! Feel good sipping them all summer long!
