Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, better known as Mahatma Gandhi, a name that resonates with patriotism, non violence, indomitable spirit, truth and perseverance in today’s world. Gandhi once said “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable spirit.” And that is as true as it gets. Gandhi might have looked weak, courtesy, the fasting in protest of the British Empire but he followed health practices all his life. Not many know but Gandhi wrote a book named “Key To Health”. Gandhi not only followed health practices himself but preached them too and was sagacious in the matters of health as well. Let’s now shed some light on health and fitness tips by Mahatma Gandhi.

Health & Fitness Tips By Gandhi

When it comes to health and fitness tips following what the ‘Father of the Nation’ recommends is a smart choice. Let’s get to it and see what he suggested.

When it comes to health fitness tips, as per Gandhi one should fast for good health. There are many proven benefits of fasting. It helps you in being disciplined and helps your body in flushing out the toxins and cleanse your system.

While talking about health and fitness, it’s very important to talk about sleep. One of the most important tips to get fit is that you should sleep for at least 8 hours and try sleeping early and waking up early. It is believed that Gandhi slept for 4-5 hours and woke up at the time of sunrise.

When it comes to ways to be physically fit walking is one way to assure that you get some physical activity. Do you remember Gandhi’s Dandi March? He walked to the Dandi beach spanning 390 kilometres on the way and was followed by over 10,000 people. So, Gandhi himself walked a lot and preached about the same.

What Is More Important Food Or Exercise For Good Health?

When it comes to Health & Fitness Tips nobody should be choosing between food and exercise because both diet and working out are equally important. When the two come together they make a powerful combination for good health. If we talk about weight loss, watching what you eat and checking the calories is important but it is also just as important to workout and burn the calories.
