Which are the best exercises for weight loss?
Essentially, every exercise helps lose weight. However, some just help you lose more weight than others. Cardio is the obvious option; running, skipping, jogging, swimming, etc. help lose weight quite quickly. However, you might lose weight without gaining muscles if you don’t do strength training. What should I eat before a workout?
The idea is to eat foods that provide enough energy for you to workout properly. Additionally, you need foods that minimize muscle damage. Pre-workout is the best time to have carbs but don’t eat too much. A piece of whole-grain toast with peanut butter and a banana a couple of hours before the workout is a great snack. For that matter, a couple of bananas about half an hour before a workout give you enough energy for a 90-minute high-intensity workout. Oatmeal, boiled chicken, eggs with veggies, and smoothies are great choices too. You can have fruits like avocado or seeds and nuts too.
What should I eat after a workout?
More than anything else, you must consume protein-rich foods after a workout to promote muscle repair and growth. Also, remember to drink plenty of fluids so that you can workout equally hard the next day if not harder. Consume eggs, poultry, fatty fish, seeds and nuts, a smoothie with protein powder along with minimal carbs – 1 piece of whole wheat bread toast. Nuts butters, olive oil, and avocado are good sources of carbs. Consume protein-rich foods within an hour of completing your workout without fail in addition to drinking plenty of water. Have Greek yogurt once a day as well. If you workout at night, have a portion of chicken or fish along with brown rice.
